This newsletter is addressed to Russian political leaders and personnel at state-assisted and non-governmental agencies working in the sphere of HIV prevention and response. The information presented: prevention of social abandonment of children, born to HIV-positive mothers; wide range of issues like reasons and factors that influence the growth in the number of social abandonment cases; social vulnerability of HIV-positive women; challenges arising due to social status and further life scheme of children left go the government to care for them; social consequences. The newsletter contains detailed guidelines on how to modernize governmental policy aimed at prevention of social abandonment and at improving quality of life of children born to HIV-positive mothers.
