This national survey to detect stigma and discrimination of people living with HIV was conducted in Tajikistan for the first time. The results of the survey include: the level of knowledge about modes of transmission of HIV/AIDS; Discrimination on the level of institutionalized organizations; Attitude of families, community and religion towards HIV-positive people; Needs and problems of HIV-positive people; Role of local authorities and Mass Media in reducing discrimination of HIV-positive people.
