On 29-30 June, 2010 representatives of the American Red Cross and Charitable Trust Fund of Ann Ray (Minneapolis, USA) will visit Irkutsk. During 7 years they have been financial donors of one of the largest program of Irkutsk Branch of the Russian Red Cross “Expanded care and support for people affected by HIV infection”.
The program’s activity started in 2003. Specialists provide counseling, legal, social and psychological assistance to families affected by the epidemic of HIV/AIDS in Irkutsk, to children born to HIV-positive mothers, pregnant HIV-positive women and members of their families.
Visitors plan to meet the program’s clients, to visit Information and Counseling Center of the Red Cross “Steps” and the Early Development School “Rainbow-Flower”.
Purpose of the visit is to discuss the program’s activity and its results, achieved during the program’s realization in Irkutsk region.
