On December 1 the International Day against AIDS is celebrated. For the first time the date was celebrated in 1998 when the appeal of tolerance and expansion of HIV/AIDS information exchange was sounded on the meeting of Public Health ministers of all countries. This year the 1st December motto is “Stop AIDS. Take the promise”.
Irkutsk Branch of Red Cross prepared a saturated program. There were organized information tents, contests and presentations passed in town universities, pupils of senior years of Markovo school, specialists and Red Cross volunteers told the history of this date and answered pupils questions.
On December 1 in Irkutsk center, in Uritskiy street, the event “It is important to know!” happened also. Every pedestrian could ask a question and to receive the necessary information.
